Wherigo v2.0 refers to a complete rewrite of Wherigo from the ground up. This is also called "Wherigo as a platform." The goal of this long-term endeavor is to separate Wherigo from the UI and produce a platform that offers speed, flexibility, customization, and extensibility to authors.
Timeline
Work has not yet begun on Wherigo v2.0, though the Wherigo Foundation occasionally discusses it and keeps notes for future consideration.
Programming Language
Wherigo may leave lua behind and go with a more popular language. Candidates range from C# to JavaScript. This has not been determined.
